Executive Chef Niki Nakayama, formerly of Azami Sushi Café on L.A.’s famed street of Melrose Avenue known for its unique shopping and host to many critically acclaimed restaurants, Chef Nakayama brings to you over ten years of culinary experience in fine Japanese cuisine with an eclectic blend of world influences.
It was at Azami Sushi, that Chef Nakayama perfected her stylish brand of “Omakase,” meaning the Chef’s Choice in Japanese, to which she guided diners both seasoned and beginners alike, into a unique experience of high quality fish from all regions of the world served with simple touches of sea salt and special blends of soy sauce. Chef Nakayama’s work has been cited in the Los Angeles times, the Zagat, Chowhound, and most notably, winning Citisearch’s “Best of Sushi” in 2006.
Having been trained in both traditional Japanese and European cooking, it has always been Chef Nakayama’s passion to blend influences from every aspect of cooking into an art form. With this passion in high quality ingredients and locally grown produce, Chef Nakayama proudly presents "The Chef’s Table" at Inaka Seafood Gourmet.
At night after the market closes, Chef Nakayama prepares an Eight course “Omakase” tasting menu. Featuring an array of seafood selections, organic produce, special cuts of meat from Kurobuta to Kobe Beef, the menu is ever changing to reflect the seasons.
Seating in limited to 10 each night and the courses are $80.00 per person. Please be sure to make reservations at least two weeks in advance as they fill up quickly.
